Originally established to raise funds to erect a statue in the Village of Montgomery to memorialize Richie Reynolds, an endeared member of the community, the Richie Reynolds Memorial Fund now provides grants for maintenance of the statue as well as community-based organizations and scholarships to Valley Central graduates.

Richie Reynolds Memorial Scholarship

The Richie Reynolds Memorial Scholarship awards one (1) $250 scholarship annually to a graduating senior from Valley Central High School. This scholarship supports students who have demonstrated resilience and determination by overcoming personal challenges, reflecting Richie Reynolds’ enduring impact on the community.

Eligibility & Application Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a graduating senior from Valley Central High School
• Meet one of the following criteria:
  • Have a special education classification (IEP), or
  • Demonstrate that they have overcome a significant obstacle in their life
• Submit a short essay of 250 words or fewer describing how they have overcome a significant obstacle

Students must create a profile in the CFOSR Scholarship Portal to view and apply for scholarship opportunities connected to this fund. Once logged in, applicants will be able to access the Universal Scholarship Application and submit any required materials.
