Caitlin M. Hammaren Memorial Foundation and Arts Institute Fund

Date Established: June 4, 2014

Inspired by Caitlin’s love of the Arts and created following Caitlin’s senseless death on the morning of April 16, 2007 at Virginia Tech, this Fund provides an annual scholarship to a graduating student of Minisink High School and makes grants in the areas of arts education, culinary arts, and other cultural programs.


Caitlin M. Hammaren Memorial Foundation and Arts Institute Scholarship

(Minisink Valley High School)

The Caitlin M. Hammaren Memorial Foundation and Arts Institute Scholarship awards one (1) $2,000 scholarship annually to a graduating senior from Minisink Valley High School. This scholarship recognizes academic excellence, leadership, and meaningful community involvement.

Eligibility & Application Requirements
Applicants must:

  • Be a female graduating senior from Minisink Valley High School
  • Rank in the top 10% of their graduating class
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from teachers
  • Submit a one-and-a-half page, double-spaced essay demonstrating their community service or community involvement
  • Agree to participate in an interview as part of the selection process

This scholarship is administered through the Minisink Valley High School Guidance Department. Interested students should apply directly through their school.


Caitlin M. Hammaren Memorial Foundation and Arts Institute SUNY Orange Scholarship

The Caitlin M. Hammaren Memorial Foundation and Arts Institute SUNY Orange Scholarship awards one (1) $250 scholarship annually to a student currently enrolled at SUNY Orange. This scholarship supports continuing students as they pursue their academic goals.

Eligibility & Application Requirements
Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled as a student at SUNY Orange

This scholarship is administered by the SUNY Orange Foundation. Students should apply through SUNY Orange according to their internal process.


Caitlin M. Hammaren Memorial Foundation and Arts Institute Culinary Scholarship

The Caitlin M. Hammaren Memorial Foundation and Arts Institute Culinary Scholarship awards one (1) $250 scholarship annually to a student enrolled in the Orange-Ulster BOCES Culinary C-Tech Program. This scholarship supports students preparing to complete their program and transition into the culinary field.

Eligibility & Application Requirements
Applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in the Orange-Ulster BOCES Culinary C-Tech Program
  • Be graduating from the program
  • Submit one letter of recommendation from your Culinary C-Tech instructor

No essay is required. Applicants must affirm enrollment and program completion as part of the application process.

Students must create a profile in the CFOSR Scholarship Portal to view and apply for scholarship opportunities connected to this fund. Once logged in, applicants will be able to access the Universal Scholarship Application and submit any required materials.
