Frederick “Rick” Metzger Memorial Scholarship Fund

A scholarship will be distributed annually to a student from the Valley Central School District who plans to pursue a degree in the field of healthcare, including public health administration. Preference will be given to students who have EMT/EMS experience or have volunteer service in support of ambulance operations.


Frederick “Rick” Metzger Memorial Scholarship

The Frederick “Rick” Metzger Memorial Scholarship awards one (1) $500 scholarship annually to a graduating senior from Valley Central High School who plans to pursue a degree in the healthcare field. This scholarship supports students who are committed to service, community care, and making a meaningful difference through a career in healthcare, including emergency medical services or public health administration.

Preference is given to students with EMT or EMS experience, or those who have volunteered in support of ambulance or emergency medical operations.

Eligibility & Application Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduating senior from Valley Central High School
  • Plan to pursue a degree in healthcare, including emergency medical services or public health administration
  • Demonstrate an interest in service-oriented healthcare careers

Preference will be given to applicants who:

  • Have EMT or EMS experience, or
  • Have volunteered in support of ambulance or emergency medical services

Students must create a profile in the CFOSR Scholarship Portal to view and apply for scholarship opportunities connected to this fund. Once logged in, applicants will be able to access the Universal Scholarship Application and submit any required materials
