Timothy Lubitz Memorial Fund

T LubitzThis fund was established in honor, and memory of Timothy (Tim) Lubitz in order to keep his legacy alive now and forever. The award will be given to the successful graduating candidate(s) from Valley Central High School who will be pursing a career in Mathematics, Engineering, or the Sciences. Candidates must show high moral standards, strong family values and a love of the community.

Tim was a 2001 graduate of Valley Central high School. He got his associates degree in Physical Science from Orange County Community College in 2005. He transferred to the University at Buffalo where he was working on his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. During the summer of 2007 he interned with the United States Army Corps of Engineers at West Point, where upon completion of his degree, he was to return.

Tim was a caring, loving person who enjoyed living life to its fullest. He loved being in the company of children as they were so special to him. He enjoyed all sports and anything adventurous. He was always willing to go the extra mile to assist anyone in need. Above all, family and friends were most important in his life. 


Timothy Lubitz Memorial Scholarship

The Timothy Lubitz Memorial Scholarship awards three (3) scholarships in the amount of $750 each to graduating seniors from Valley Central High School. This scholarship honors Timothy Lubitz’s caring spirit, generosity, and love of life by supporting students as they pursue higher education.

Preference is given to students planning to pursue a career and major in science or mathematics.

Eligibility & Application Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a graduating senior from Valley Central High School
  • Plan to attend college
  • Intend to pursue a major or career in science or mathematics (preference)

Students must create a profile in the CFOSR Scholarship Portal to view and apply for scholarship opportunities connected to this fund. Once logged in, applicants will be able to access the Universal Scholarship Application and submit any required materials.
